Children’s Dentistry

Care for growing smiles
Our team is happy to care for children with gentle pediatric dentistry. We can begin seeing kids as soon as they have teeth, because early oral care supports lasting dental health.

Why Early Dental Care Matters
Cavities are the most common chronic disease of childhood. According to the CDC, half of children aged 6-9 have had at least one cavity in their baby or permanent teeth, and 1 in 10 adolescents aged 12-19 has at least one untreated cavity. Children from lower-income households are twice as likely to have cavities as children from higher-income households - a gap that early, routine dental visits help narrow.
The timing question parents ask most is “when should my child first see a dentist?” The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association both recommend the first visit occur by the child’s first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Baby teeth matter in their own right: they hold space for the permanent teeth, guide their eruption, and affect speech development and nutrition during critical growth years.
